Surviving Traumatic Brain Injury

“Survivors Pay it Forward.”
I didn’t die
I felt like I would
I lost all hope to live and survive
There is an awakening
For Once I cried
Now I live…
I’m born to thrive..
Surviving a Brain Injury you want it to end
Including your life you just can’t pretend
Friends disappear and family let go
The community is blind coz they just don’t know
Injuries are hidden with rarely a scare seen
When scares are visible what does it mean?
Compassion is lost and judgment is born
All that is left is our brain, now we mourn
Memories are shattered
Our visions are torn
Dreams are buried, what is left to mend?
We hope for the best, not knowing the end
If a brain breaks, it can’t be replaced.
Hidden behind the smiles.. we cry
This is a tragedy we can’t deny
We picked up the pieces
Some did it alone
Some had support and others just roamed
Never the less… we did our best
And here we are… our voice will not rest
Extraordinary people, conquering fear
Take your positions, Your mission is near
Courage and wisdom, kindness and strength
Survivors Pay it Forward, we travel at great lengths
Our voice now has wings.
We didn’t die… we took to the sky
Wings take flight, boldly we fly..
For we are the warriors, troops on a mission
a pathway to purpose… with a powerful vision
“To Pay it Forward.”
We express on the surface,
Reaching the people on the streets
Sharing kindness to every soul that we meet..
Battered and broken our words are simple..
Lessons are giving and wisdom is learned
We have a message, now you can rest,
Live your life, Be happy and blessed…
A God Felt passion from Heaven above…
You are a gift, filled with compassion and love.
Spread kind words but action is best
Simple acts of kindness.. is a ripple effect
Everything you do and what you say
Changes our world, brightens the day
You have a mission to pass it on..
Now get to work.. there’s a lot to be done
Touch the world one person at a time
The future belongs to those who believe
Anything is possible
Even living your dreams.
